我个人认为rather(宁愿)没有否定的意思.但有表达个人选择的意思.
例句:
1.Do you want to go to the mall?
-No,I rather stay home.
用No来否定,rather 只是宁愿的意思.也有不愿意的意思(但不否定)
2.Do you have any Pepsi?
-I'm sorry,we only have Coke.
Oh,I rather not drinking anything.
他宁愿不喝,也不要Coke.有不快的意思(但不否定)
3.You prefer soup or noodle?
-I rather eat rice.
表示他宁愿选择吃饭.(个人选择)
可笑的是饭不是问题中的选择,但rather就可以这样用.
我的表妹(住在美国)常这样说话(汽死我了),我就要他二选一.
