Four hundred juvenile Siberian sturgeons were obtained from Qiandao Lake Sturgeon Company in Zhejiang Province.The fish were stocked in an indoor aquaculture facility located at the East China Sea Fisheries Research Institute of the Chinese Academy of Fishery Sciences,Shanghai,under ambient light and temperature before the experiment.They were stocked for a period of 15 days prior to beginning the experiment so as to acclimate them to laboratory conditions.Fish were fed to slight excess of satiation 2 times per day with a commercial diet (43.2% crude protein,15.4% crude fat,12% carbohydrate,8.9% ash according to the manufacturer,Shandong Shengsuofeed Company,China).Remaining pellets and excretes were removed from the aquaria after half an hour since feed was finished with a suction hose.After 15 days of acclimation,300 healthy juvenile Siberian sturgeon (11.44±0.15 cm body length,10.18±0.3 g wet body weight) were chosen and assigned to 15 rectangular plastic blue fiberglass tanks (78*58*?cm兰色大水箱) with 20 fish in each tank.The mean lengths and weights of fish did not differ among treatments (LSD; P>0.05).Then,fish were designated randomly to one of the four fluoride exposure treatments plus one control treatment.All the tanks were aerated during rearing time to ensure nearly saturated dissolved oxygen.The sturgeons were reared under ambient photoperiod which approximately is 12h light/ 12h dark.Water quality parameters including pH,temperature,dissolved oxygen,and ammonia were monitored every day throughout the experiment.The water quality parameters across this experiment were temperature 23±1 ℃,pH between 7.4 and 7.8,dissolved oxygen >8.0 mg l-1,and total ammonia nitrogen
