I am the part of the Green Olympics
Today,my speech is "I am the part of the Green Olympics".
"Green Olympics" is one of the Three Themes of Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.Therefore the Beijing government had made a great effort in order to protect the environment,build more "Green project",keep the ecological balance and protect the water resource.But if only the government take the action to realize the Green Olympics in 2008,its not enough.As a middle school student,we should play an active role in the actions aimed at the realization of Green Olympics.So we should start it from ourselves,our family,our friends and other people around us.
In 2001,in the Moscow world trade center,when the former chairman of the International Olympic Committee,Samaranch had said:"Beijing,China!" as a Chinese,I had a great joy for my country from the bottom of my heart!But after the excitement that Beijing had been succeed in the race to host the Olympic Game in 2008.I started to worry about the dusty air,the sandstorm,the polluted rivers and lakes; the streets without any green and whether we could successfully host the Olympic Games in 2008.
Four years later,today,we can see 229 day blue sky in one year,we can hardly catch a glimpse of the sandstorm,groups of wild duck comes back to Shishahai Lake in the spring,and all the streets are dressed in green.All these make me deeply believe that Beijing can surely succeed in 2008!And all these achievements are not only the result that made by the Beijing government,but also by the 14 millions Beijing citizens.As one of the 14 millions normal citizens,I am also adding my contribution to our Green Olympic!
So the "Green Olympic" should be started from every little things in our daily life,start from me,from the people that around me.
Express the spirit of Olympic,publicize the theme of "Green Olympic".This is the responsibility of anyone who loves peace.And it is also the responsibility of us ,middle school students!
We have done that and Beijing has been successful .

Green Olympics
Good afternoon , ladies and gentlemen.i’m Zhengwenchao from Jianshan Middle School of chongqing.It’s a great honor for me to take part in the competition.Thanks for giving me the opportunity to stand on the stadge to share my view on “Green Olympics”.
What do you think the Green Olypics means?in my personal view Green Olympics means to prepare it in accordance with principle of sustainable development,which calls for the protection of environment,conservation of natural resources and maintenance of ecological balance.
Despite the great progress made in recent years in environmental protection,there is still a long way for us to go to reach the requirements of a Green Olympics.For example:
Air pollution is still serious.take my hometown chongqing for example.wherever you go you can hardly find blue sky.the pollution is not only caused by some untreated smoke and chemicals from factories and plants but also by the massive use of automobiles.
The shortage of water as well as water pollution are also the major problems we are now facing.on the one hand ,the shortage of water remains a problem which is hard to deal with; but on the other hand people keep pouring waste water into rivers and lakes.
As we all know, hosting an olympics games is not an easy job.it will cost a lot of money and energy.so how to use and save clean energy has become an urgent problem for us to handle.
To solve those above mentional problems,we need to take an immediate action.Laws should be made to restrict factories and plants to give off harmful smoke and people should be encouraged to use public transportation to reduce energy comsume and to reduce the waste gases from cars.children should be educated to sort trash into different categories .
But in my personal opinion,among the measures we take, the most important one is to promote people’s awareness of environmental protection.Because only when most people realise the importance of invironmental protection can we create a clean and beautiful environment for the 2008 olympics.
Now please allow me to call on all of us to join hands to make our country a better place to welcome athletes and friends from all over the world.thank you for listening.
